Early Life and Education
Irakli Garibashvili was born on June 28, 1982, in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. He grew up during a time when Georgia was facing political instability after the collapse of the Soviet Union. His early experiences shaped his interest in politics and national development.
Garibashvili pursued higher education at Tbilisi State University, where he studied international relations. Later, he continued his studies in France, gaining international exposure and understanding of global political systems. His education helped him develop skills in diplomacy, governance, and leadership.
Entry into Politics
Garibashvili began his professional career working closely with billionaire and politician Bidzina Ivanishvili, who later founded the ruling political party Georgian Dream. This association played a crucial role in shaping Garibashvili’s political career.

However, in December 2015, Garibashvili unexpectedly resigned from office. He stated that he was stepping down voluntarily and would continue serving his country in other ways.
Return to Politics and Second Term (2021–2024)
