Sheikh Tamim was born on June 3, 1980, in Doha, the capital city of Qatar. He is the fourth son of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. From a young age, he was prepared for leadership and received both traditional and modern education.
He completed his early education in Qatar and later attended Sherborne School in the United Kingdom.
