Early Life and Education

Rishi Sunak was born on 12 May 1980 in Southampton, England, to parents of Indian descent who had emigrated from East Africa. His father worked as a general practitioner, while his mother ran a pharmacy. Sunak grew up in a hardworking family environment that emphasized education and public service.

He attended the prestigious Winchester College, one of the United Kingdom’s top private schools. Later, he studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at University of Oxford. After completing his undergraduate degree, Sunak continued his studies in the United States and earned an MBA from Stanford University, where he also met his future wife, Akshata Murty.

Early Career in Business

Before entering politics, Sunak built a successful career in finance. He worked as an analyst at the investment bank Goldman Sachs and later joined hedge funds and investment firms. Through these roles, he gained strong experience in financial management and economic policy.

As prime minister, Sunak focused on restoring economic stability after market disruptions and rising inflation. His government worked to reduce inflation, manage public finances, and strengthen relations with international allies.
