Presidents of the United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was formed on 2 December 1971 as a federation of seven emirates. Since its establishment, the country has been led by presidents who have played a decisive role in shaping its political system, economic growth, and international standing. LIST OF PRESIDENTS OF UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1971–2004)
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was the founding President of the United Arab Emirates and is widely regarded as the architect of the nation. Sheikh Khalifa oversaw major national initiatives aimed at modernizing the economy and reducing dependence on oil. During his tenure, the UAE expanded its global influence in trade, aviation, finance, and renewable energy. He also emphasized social development, citizens’ welfare, and large-scale infrastructure projects. Despite health challenges in later years, his era was marked by stability, prosperity, and steady progress.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (2022–Present)
In 2022, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the third President of the United Arab Emirates. Known for his strategic vision and decisive leadership, he had already played a key role in national affairs for many years before assuming the presidency.
