Tunku Abdul Rahman (1957–1970)

Tunku Abdul Rahman is known as the Father of Independence. He led Malaya to independence from British rule in 1957 and later played a key role in the formation of Malaysia in 1963, bringing together Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak, and Singapore. His leadership focused on democracy, moderation, and national unity.

Tun Abdul Razak (1970–1976)

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad (1981–2003; 2018–2020)

Dr. Mahathir is Malaysia’s longest-serving prime minister. He transformed Malaysia into a modern industrial nation, launching projects such as the Petronas Twin Towers, national car Proton, and Vision 2020. His second term marked a historic political comeback and democratic transition.

Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (2003–2009)

Abdullah Badawi focused on good governance, transparency, and Islam Hadhari, a moderate and progressive interpretation of Islam. His leadership aimed at balanced development and improving public administration.

Dato’ Sri Najib Razak (2009–2018)

Najib Razak introduced the 1Malaysia concept to promote national unity and implemented economic transformation programs to boost growth. His tenure saw infrastructure expansion, though it was also marked by political controversy.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (2020–2021)
