Mohammad Hatta (1945–1956)

The first Vice President of Indonesia, Mohammad Hatta, is often remembered as the “Proclaimer of Independence” alongside Sukarno. Adam Malik (1978–1983)

Try Sutrisno (1993–1998)

General Try Sutrisno, a military leader, took office during a period of political stability under Suharto’s New Order. His role often focused on security, defense, and maintaining political order. Megawati Sukarnoputri (1999–2001)

Megawati Sukarnoputri, daughter of Indonesia’s first President Sukarno, served as Vice President under Abdurrahman Wahid. Her tenure paved the way for her eventual election as Indonesia’s first female President.
